The PhD school will be held at Bielefeld University.
Students and lecturers will at Mercure Hotel Bielefeld Johannisberg, where we will also have breakfast and dinner together. Close to the hotel, there are lots of opportunities for leisure activities, and the city center is in walking distance.
The distance from the hotel to Bielefeld University is about 3 km. We will organize a bus shuttle for the transfer. In case of nice weather, we may also take a nice hike through the forest from the university to the hotel in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, there is no bus stop right in front of the hotel. A taxi would cost about 15 €. Alternatively, you can take the bus line 62 or line 21 direction "Werther" until stop "Crüwerstraße". From there, you will have to walk about 600 m. You may also directly walk from the main station to the hotel, this is about 2 km / 30 minutes (depending on the route you take, google maps may not show you the shortest route because it does not know all paths, e.g. through the park "Winzer Garten").
The tram (Stadtbahn) station "Universität" is in 2 min walking distance from the X building where the teaching is held. The tram leaves every 10 minutes and directly goes to the main station in about 8 minutes.
